With the surge in global air cargo demand, Avius ULD faced challenges in achieving production efficiency, precision, and scale at its modern manufacturing facility in Bangkok, Thailand. Precision machining of aircraft aluminum and composite materials must meet stringent IATA standards while also accommodating the production of large ULD components measuring 2500x6000mm. Conventional equipment lacked the stability and high precision required for such large workpieces, prompting Avius ULD to seek a customized CNC router solution from Mintech.
The Avius ULD production process involves precision machining of aircraft-grade aluminum sheets (1-5 mm thick, such as 6061-T6 and 7075 alloys) and high-performance composite materials (such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and fiberglass). These materials are used in products such as S-series containers, pallet extenders, and fire-resistant FRCs, and must comply with the stringent IATA ULD Regulations.
